The English Department’s Writer-in-Residence program is shifting gears this fall with the introduction of UWindsor’s first Cartoonist-in-Residence, Scott Chantler, who will take his post in September. UWindsor is thought to be the first Canadian university to step into the realm of cartoon study with its Writer-in-Residence program.

Students seeking general academic advice will now find the advisors at room 115, Dillon Hall, as the team has recently relocated from the CAW Student Centre Commons area.

“This will allow us to bring together in Dillon Hall our advising services with other key Student Success Centre services, which will enhance the UWindsor student experience,” says dean of students Clayton Smith.

A mix of secured parking and enhanced transit options will provide convenient access to users of the UWindsor’s downtown campus opening this fall.

Photo exhibit illustrates Zimbabwe’s healthcare gap

When Paul Thistle, former chief medical officer of the Howard Hospital in rural Zimbabwe, was transferred on short notice, his patients made a simple yet powerful statement, “We want our doctor back.”

Photojournalist Douglas MacLellan and Dr. Thistle, holder of a 2008 UWindsor honorary doctor of laws degree, bring this call to the Windsor Star News Café, 300 Ouellette Ave., from June 15 to 20 with a photo exhibition of the same name.
