Community celebration to mark start of Asian Heritage Month

Performances and displays of Asian history and cultures will celebrate the May 1 start to Asian Heritage Month.

The day of activities will open at 3 p.m. with a free public exhibit at the Ciociaro Club, 3745 North Talbot Rd., presented by the Essex County Chinese Canadian Association, the Filipino Community Centre, the Korean Society of Windsor, and the South Asian Centre of Windsor.

A banquet to follow at 5:30 p.m. will feature a keynote address by CTV News Windsor anchor and reporter Sijia Liu. Tickets are $120 per person. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Windsor Regional Hospital Foundation; $40 is eligible for tax deduction.

“This event will provide our guests with an excellent opportunity to learn more about diverse Asian cultures, socialize, and network with other participants,” says ECCCA president Stephen Tsui.
