Farrah Francis, a career consultant in the Office of Career Development and Experiential Learning, won Tuesday’s DailyNews trivia quiz and its prize of two tickets to the University Players production of A Streetcar Named Desire, continuing through November 4 in the Essex Hall Theatre.
Her entry was drawn from all those which correctly identified the play as a 1948 Pulitzer Prize winner, Blanche DuBois as dependent on the kindness of strangers, and Elia Kazan as director of both its Broadway debut and the 1951 film adaptation.
The University Players’ show is the tragic tale of DuBois and her descent into madness, driven there by cruel treatment at the hands of her brother-in-law. Performances Wednesday through Saturday are at 8 p.m.; matinees Saturday and Sunday are at 2 p.m. Order tickets online at www.UniversityPlayers.com or by phoning 519-253-3000, ext. 2808.
