Provost Douglas Kneale announced several appointments of academic administrators Thursday.

Katherine Quinsey will take on the position of acting dean of the Faculty of Education, from January 1, 2016, to June 30, 2017. A professor of English, she has served three terms as head of the Department of English Language, Literature and Creative Writing, and shorter stints as associate dean of the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences and acting assistant provost for inter-faculty programs.

Political science professor Lydia Miljan has begun a term as assistant provost for inter-faculty programs, and will continue in the role through June 2017. She will continue to serve as chair of the Arts and Sciences program, which she has since 2008.

Charles Macdonald will hold the position of acting dean of the Faculty of Science through June 2016. Dr. Macdonald had been associate dean of science for graduate studies before accepting the current appointment September 1.

Dr. Kneale expressed thanks to all three for taking on these responsibilities, and called on colleagues across campus to lend them support in their new leadership roles.
