Windsor Family Credit Union will operate a retail location in the University of Windsor’s Innovation Centre, to open in the winter of 2014.
The new branch, the credit union’s eighth, will offer support for the financial needs of the University of Windsor community and the residents, organizations and businesses of west Windsor.
“It is our pleasure to welcome WFCU to our campus community,” says UWindsor president Alan Wildeman. “WFCU shares our vision to enhance the student experience by offering students unique work placements, special products and services, and opportunities to gain insight into the financial services world.”
The Innovation centre is located adjacent to the seven-level parking garage on the south side of Wyandotte Street between California and Sunset avenues. Besides the WFCU, it will house Campus Community Police, Parking Services and other amenities, with occupancy expected in January 2014.
UWindsor students will have access to WFCU’s complete range of financial, insurance, investment and trust products and services designed to support them through their student days and beyond. Products include free chequing, savings accounts, short term and long term fixed investments, credit and debit card products, a full range of personal loans, lines of credit and mortgage products and a variety of service delivery channels for access to their funds, at their convenience.
Marty Komsa, WFCU president, says the credit union is looking forward to bringing its services to students, staff and area residents.
“WFCU has many unique ideas and we look forward to working through a collaborative process for the planning of this retail location,” he says.
Besides financial services, the location will offer an on-site automated teller machine with 24-hour access, a venue for visual arts students to display their works, meeting rooms for community groups, and employment and scholarship opportunities for students.
