Lancer grads inducted into alumni Hall of Fame

The 34th annual Alumni Sports Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and Awards Presentation was held this weekend.

Following Sunday’s ceremonies, the Hall of Fame now boasts a distinguished membership of 135 inductees, 31 Sport Achievement recipients and 39 Team Achievement recipients.

Inductees in the Athlete category, recognized for their outstanding accomplishments as Lancer Athletes, include Jamie Adjetey-Nelson BA '07, BEd '09 - Track and Field, Arjei Franklin BHK '05, BEd '06 - Football, Stephanie Gouin BHK '99 - Track and Field and Steve Ray BASc '96 - Volleyball.

Alumni Sports Hall of Fame to welcome new inductees

Former Lancer stars from track and field, football, and volleyball will join the University of Windsor Alumni Sports Hall of Fame at an induction ceremony Sunday, Oct. 6.

Decathlete Jamie Adjetey-Nelson (BA 2007, B.Ed 2009), jumper Stephanie Gouin (BHK 1999), wide receiver Arjei Franklin (BHK 2005, B.Ed 2006), and men’s volleyball MVP Steve Ray (BASc 1996) will be honoured as part of Alumni Weekend celebrations.

Alumni association to honour achievements of recent grads

Athletes, educators, entrepreneurs and entertainers are among the eight University of Windsor grads who will be honoured for their successes early in their professional careers during the University of Windsor Alumni Association’s annual general meeting on Thursday, November 15.

Athletics Canada names UWindsor alumnus to Panamerican Combined Events Cup in nation’s capital

Lancer alumnus Jamie Adjetey-Nelson (BA 2007, BEd 2009) headlines Canada’s entry at the 2012 Panamerican Combined Events Cup taking place in Ottawa, May 26 and 27.

The decathlete, who enters with a personal best of 8239 points, sits third on the Canadian all-time list behind Michael Smith and David Steen. Adjetey-Nelson has represented Canada on numerous occasions, notably at the 2011 World Championships and at the 2010 Commonwealth Games -- where he won gold.
