Friday’s grand opening of the Clinical Neuropsychology Service Clinic at the University of Windsor’s Psychological Services and Research Centre (PSRC) drew a large community crowd, with everyone from UWindsor president Alan Wildeman to community partners and potential clients on hand to check out the program’s new space.

Children with ADHD in grades 4 and 5 sought for meditation program

A UWindsor professor is looking to give children with attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder the greater self-control through meditation.

Psychology professor Carlin Miller is hosting the Mindful Living for Kids meditation program this fall and is seeking 24 to 30 children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in grades 4 and 5 to participate.

“School changes a lot for children in grades 3 and 4 and there are more expectations of independence,” said Dr. Miller.

New ADHD study looking for kids in grades four and five

A new UWindsor research project to study ways of managing ADHD is looking for children in grades four and five who have been diagnosed with the disorder to participate in a study.

The 12-week program, which will run two evenings a week, will operate in a small group setting in which children will be getting physical exercise or learning to meditate to manage their symptoms.
